How to store peanut seeds

First, the seeds should be fully dried before storage to reduce the water content of the seeds to below 8%. According to the test, when the water content of the seeds is lower than 8%, the storage is very safe, and the germination ability is not affected even at -25 °C. When the water content of the seeds is higher than 10%, the respiration is enhanced and a large amount of heat energy is released, which is easy to cause the seeds to be mildewed and deteriorated and insects.
The second is to improve the clarity of the seeds, remove impurities and immature fruit, and release a lot of heat energy, which is easy to cause the seeds to be mildewed and deteriorated and insects.
The third is to strictly disinfect and sterilize the storage site, prevent moisture, and keep the warehouse ventilated and dry.
Fourth, woven bags and sacks are the best storage devices, and airtight plastic bags should be avoided. Storing seeds in plastic bags is easy to cause the air not to circulate, so that the seeds undergo anaerobic respiration, and the seed embryos are poisoned.
Fifth, peanuts cannot be stored in the same warehouse with pesticides and fertilizers. Many pesticides and fertilizers are volatile and corrosive to a certain extent, which can damage the cells and embryos of seeds.
Sixth, pay attention to frequent inspections during storage to see if the seeds are damp, damaged by insects and rats, and whether the germination potential and germination rate of the seeds are reduced. If problems are found, deal with them in time to ensure the safe storage of peanut seeds.
